Mekong Delta Culture & Tourism

On Nov 15 to 18, the Mekong Delta Culture & Tourism Week will take place in Hanoi to introduce and promote tourism potentials and typical cultural values of Mekong Delta region to the domestic and international markets.

In response to the National Tourism Year held in Kien Giang next year, Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in cooperation with the Mekong Delta’s localities and People’s Committee of Hanoi organize the Mekong Delta Culture and Tourism Week with the theme of “Impressive Cultural Heritage – Mekong Delta Tourism”. The event definitely aims at promoting the Mekong Delta regions’ tourism potentials, honoring special cultural values, contributing to attracting more investments in the region, as well as encouraging the socio-economic development of localities. It’s also considered a great chance to strengthen cooperation and exchanges experience on developing culture and tourism activities between the localities and their partners.

According to the organizers, there will be interesting highlights taking place there, including the colorful opening ceremony, photographic exhibition on nature, people and culture of the Mekong Delta region, traditional art performances, food festival, traditional fashion show, and so on. Besides, many other activities will be also organized in the event’s framework such as art program of “Mekong Timbres”, the workshop on “Preserving cultural heritage and developing tourism in the Mekong Delta”, road show program, etc. On this occasion, Kien Giang’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Department plans to officially introduce activities taking place in Vietnam’s National Tourism Year 2016.

The Mekong Delta Culture & Tourism Week will be organized at Vietnam Exhibition of Culture and Arts (Hoa Lu Street, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi). The opening ceremony is going to be started at 20h00, Nov 15, 2015
