Good news: Vietnam Railway Corporation offers 50% discount for early booking

Recently, the state-run company of Vietnam Railway Corporation has announced their latest promotional campaign with a discount of 50% to attract more customers during the low season.

Accordingly, from Oct 30, 2015 – Jan 18, 2016 and from Mar 1 – Apr 14, 2016, tickets that are purchased 60 days before the departing time will get a 50% price cut while a 30% price reduction will be offered for those booked 30 – 59 days before the departure date. Particularly, the cuts are only applied for individual passengers on the Reunification Expresses trains or also known as Thong Nhat trains (from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City), including TN1/TN2, SE1/2, SE3/4, SE5/6, and SE7/8 with the distance running of more than 1,300 kilometers.

Passengers can buy the discounted train tickets via any available means, right at the train station’s ticket counters, online, or booking agents. Those taking part in this promotional program are not allowed to change or return their tickets.

This promotional campaign was applied last year during the low season from Sep to Dec, showing up practical effectiveness. According to the head of Vietnam Railway Corporation, this kind of program not only helps its customers save an enormous amount of money for the train ticket, but also enables the company to attract many more passengers using the service, and then, generate more revenues.
